The purpose of New Hope Christian School is to assist parents in providing a Christian Education for their children.  Because we recognize that all knowledge comes from God, we strive to train children to think biblically in every area of life and to apply the truth of Scripture to every aspect of the curricula.  While recognizing that God expects the very best from His people, we understand that it is His grace that allows us to seek Him and to pursue academic excellence.

“All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17

True knowledge is impossible without a recognition of God (Proverbs 1:7; Romans 1:18-23).  God, the Creator of heaven and earth, cannot be seperated from history, literature, mathematics, science, or any other academic discipline.  The whole range and content of education must be centered on God and His Word, assisting students to develop a biblical view of all life.

God calls His people into a grace relationship with Himself (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-1; 1 Corinthians 10:31).  As we respond to God’s call in our lives, we are moved to glorify Him and enjoy Him now and forever.  In his goodness and grace, God has bestowed on mankind the ability to explore, investigate, and discover truths about the universe in order to exercise dominion over it and to bring him glory.  Christian education must strive to acknowledge, understand and nurture each individual’s God given abilities and use these abilities to God’s glory.

Parents are to bring up and train their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:4-7; Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs 22:6).  the primary responsibility for education rests not on the school, but on the parents to whom children are entrusted by God.  Parents have a responsibility to provide for their children a distinctively Christian education.  However, it may be wise and proper for parents to associate with other Christians and to enlist the aid of those equipped with the gift of teaching.

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6
